Some quick plumbing tips to help you troubleshoot your problems…

Problem: Water Heater doesn’t get water hot.
Tip: Check circuit breaker.  Turn it off for 10 seconds and then turn it on.  Wait 1/2 hour and check temp of hot water.  If this doesn’t work, heating elements may need to be replaced.  Four Towns Plumbing will always change both elements and thermostats.

Problem: Water leaking from Water Heater
Tip: It’s time to replace your water heater.

Problem: Faucets running water and won’t shut off.
Tip: There are chrome shut-off valves under sinks and toilet.  Most of these turn off counter-clockwise.  Turn them off then repair or replace the faucet.

Problem: Toilet keeps turning on and off.
Tip: Flapper is Leaking.  Change it.

Problem: Drain running slowly.
Tip: Run a lot of hot water down the drain slowly.  See if your clog clears.

General Hints

If you are having remodeling work done, never pay anyone up front.  Pay after you receive value.

Know where the main water shut-off for the house is located.  This will help in an emergency.

Know where the outside drain clean-out plug is located.
